Basil is one of the most popular herbs grown in the world. It is native to Asia and can be found growing wild in tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world.  The herbal scent of basil is aromatic with spicy nuances that also possesses a warm woody nuance when used as a fragrance. The mandarin leaf comes grows on the same citrus tree of the mandarin. The leaves give an intense citrus scent that also has a flora aroma. Cardamom Oil is one of the oldest essential oils known. The oil is produced by steam distillation of the seeds of Elettaria Cardamomum, a plant of the ginger family.  The odor of the cardamom oil is warm-spicy, aromatic. At first smell it is reminiscent of eucalyptus, then later it becomes balsamic-woody, increasingly sweet and almost floral on the dry out. Eucalyptus trees are native to Australia but many species of it now grow all over the world. The word 'eucalyptus' comes from Greece and refers to the seed being capsuled by the plant.  The eucalyptus plant has a distinct smell that is invigorating and stimulates the senses, with hints of mint, honey and citrus.  You can find eucalyptus in our Sports Detergent, 'Protect Me' Scent Bag our Scented Bag Collection, and our Lavender & Thyme Knitwear Mist.

Orange essential oil is extracted from the rind of the sweet orange, citrus sinensis. The extract is done by a process of cold pressing, which uses pressure to squeeze the oils from the rind.  The orange essential oil scent smells citrusy and sweet. Lavender is indigenous to the mountainous areas off the countries bordering the western European part of the Mediterranean region. The plant spread rapidly across Europe when early travellers carried it, and by the sixteenth-century lavender was already a much-loved plant in England gardens.  Lavender has a delicate, sweet smell that is floral, herby and evergreen woodsy at the same time. Spearmint Essential Oil is obtained from the steam distillation of the Spearmint plant's leaves, stems, and flowering tops. The origins of Spearmint can be traced back to the 1st century. The extracted essential oils range in colour from clear and colourless to a pale yellow or olive.  Spearmint smells minty, fresh with a slightly fruity aroma. It is less intense than peppermint, but still holds the distinctive mint scent. Bergamot originated in Southeast Asia, however today nearly all the world's supply of Bergamot comes from Calabria, the southern region of Italy. With its name descending from the Italian City of Bergamo, where the first record of Bergamot Oil as a fragrance dates back to 1714.  This small and round fruit is similar in scent to a sweet orange but also with spicy hints.  You can find Bergamot in our Silk Detergent and Basil & Mandarin Eco Laundry Detergent and Conditioner.  

Cedarwood comes from the Deodar tree, a highly regarded and sought after tree in the woodlands of North India. The evergreen tree grows in high altitudes of cold areas, and the shavings of the bark form the cedarwood.  Our Cedarwood essential oil is extracted from upcycled cedarwood unused by furniture companies. The fragrant essential oil of Lemon is produced by cold-pressing the peel, a process that pricks and rotates the peel as oil is released.  With sweet, sour and aromatic undertones, lemon becomes a citrus splash in perfume. Patchouli oil has a characteristic scent that might be described as woody, sweet, and spicy. Apart from the amazing scent, Patchouli has some health benefits due to potent anti-inflammatory compounds in it.  Patchouli is native to tropical Asia, where it is widely cultivated and has been used for centuries for its essential oil. Geranium essential oil is derived by steam distillation of the leaves of Pelargonium graveolens, a plant species native to South Africa. Today, Geranium Oil is grown in many regions, including Europe and Asia. The rose-like scent is sharp and herbaceous, with it sweet minty-rose undertone. It promotes balancing and grounding feelings and has been reported to help with scarring and skin health. Guaiacwood has been used for centuries in meditation practices and wellness ceremonies by Native Americans.
